Covelo Acupuncture is an acupuncture clinic in the heart of Crouch End, North London, with a focus on the cases that don't resolve easily. We treat complex and chronic conditions, musculoskeletal pain, sports injuries, surgical scars, Dupuytren's contracture, fertility support including IVF, ICSI, and LGBTQ+ family-building, and women's health from periods to perimenopause. We use acupuncture, electroacupuncture, and moxibustion, and we take on patients who haven't had results elsewhere.

About Vanessa

I was born in Spain and initially trained as a computer scientist, which led me to the UK for a masters degree at Cambridge University. After working in cutting edge research in speech recognition systems (think Siri/Alexa), I moved to London to build trading systems for investment banks such as Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan. I had my first acupuncture session in London and was immediately fascinated. For the next ten years I received acupuncture regularly and my interest in it grew until 2016 when I decided to retrain as an acupuncturist. After graduating from the City College of Acupuncture (​​http://citycollegeofacupuncture.com) I opened my clinic in Crouch End. I also remained at CCA as an assistant to the lecturers and two years later was promoted to lecturer in anatomy and point location. I am hugely passionate about acupuncture and the immense changes it can bring to people’s health.

The Fresh Needle

In 2020, during the first lockdown, I started a podcast for new acupuncturists where we talked about what led us to study acupuncture, the challenges of starting new clinics in such strange times, and any advice we would give to acupuncture students. The podcast grew in popularity and soon included very senior acupuncturists such as Peter Deadman, author of “A manual of acupuncture”, in shelves of most acupuncturists in the UK.
